Quite outstanding.

Food is okay, management unfriendly and unsympathetic ... We have ordered a Christmas dinner (goose) from the Waidmannsheil restaurant for our family to pick up. On the day of collection, the restaurant contacted us in good time and asked that we please bring baskets with us to transport. We were also told that we should pick up our order at the back entrance because the main entrance was closed. We were there on time and went to the back entrance as discussed. When I enter the house I have no signs or anything like that. seen. Then I decided to knock on the kitchen door and enter. Immediately I was furiously puffed up by the cook (probably the manager). After "man" had found out ... I should come through the hall into the guest room. There was probably the manageress who I asked again after the action, where the misunderstanding was and whether I had made the mistake. Not a very nice reaction or insight from this side either. The bottom line was that I could wait for the meal with my companion, with the feeling that the fault was only ours. As a guest, you just get the idea to go to the back door ... The food was okay, dealing with guests / fellow human beings is not okay. We will not come back to Waidmannsheil or order food there.

Highly recommended, we have been there twice now and ate excellent game dishes. The venison fillet was very tasty and tenderly roasted pink and the venison schnitzel with chanterelles was also perfect. The ambience is inviting rustic and the surroundings are wonderful for walks in the woods. Many thanks to the cook and the very nice service staff. We'll be back soon.

At the beginning of July the three of us went to Waidmannsheil. As there is a lot of advertising about this place in the daily newspapers, expectations were high. We ate in the burger and steak week, nat. Burger and steak;) Also a classic in the form of a schnitzel with mushrooms and french fries was represented. In short, all 3 meals were disappointing! The burger: -Taste neutral and very watery The steak: - unfortunately not medium but rather bloody and with the schnitzel the disappointment was particularly great. Two schnitzels were served which were almost identical in shape and size. This, in combination with the equally neutral taste, suggests that it was frozen goods. Update from 10/17/2020 We went to eat again in this restaurant. This time the game buffet was the order of the day. Apart from the really heavy price (35 € p.p.) the food and the service was convincing this time. Would give 4 🌟 for this evening. (-1 for the price) Makes as an overall rating for our 2 visits = 2 🌟 first visit 4 🌟 second visit 3 🌟 overall result. Conclusion: game dishes are really great in this restaurant. You should enjoy burgers and steak somewhere else 😉

Real German food, in a rustic setting, on the edge of the forest. Friendly service, always promotions (citizens, steak, goose). Really tasty and friendly service. Parking spaces are not a problem.

The ambience and the quality of the food is excellent. We ended up eating there at the end of our bike tour and will definitely come back again. The eye is not neglected there either.

The inn is romantically situated. The decor is very appealing. The guest feels comfortable in the outer area. Of course, the dishes are of high quality. This is the right address for guests who want to enjoy a pleasant dinner in peace. We sat outside. Were at the burger and steak weeks. Asked online for a reservation a week in advance, the answer came only when asked. Food and drinks are great. Staff is friendly. Had to draw my attention to me when ordering dessert. I also had to go to the counter when paying because there were no regular visits to the occupied tables. The restaurant itself is in a quiet location and exudes charm

It goes there because others want it to, but not out of conviction. Far outside, nothing works without a car. If you want to eat something, better call ahead. If non-smokers are better mentioned, also ask about musicians' practice evening. Otherwise it will be an entertaining evening. Good luck.

We can only recommend this inn! We have been coming here for almost 30 years and every visit is just relaxation. Here the chef still cooks himself! The rooms are cozy, the location is just great, and the staff friendly and courteous. Kitchen grade 1, we'll be back ...

Highly recommended restaurant in the middle of the forest of Diensthop. Small card that always points to fresh ingredients. There is also a regularly changing season ticket. The family business is clearly specialized in game dishes. Finally found a great alternative to Italian, Greek or Chinese!
